Chances are good, you have heard about a website known as Facebook. Most of the world has and majorities of the people who have heard of it use it on a regular basis. The idea behind it is a great one. It allows you to connect with everyone you know through a centralized location on the World Wide Web. You can learn about companies that your friends use and see photographs of your family members who may live in another country. A lot of the people who began using Facebook as a way to keep in touch with family members or friends have developed some rather annoying habits along the way. Are you someone who is addicted to Facebook and are you guilty of one of the top 10 most annoying things you can do on FB?
10. Game Application Updates and Photos
It is great to be proud of your farm or other things that you have built in the magical world of FB applications, but the people who do not enjoy that particular game, do not care what your farm looks like. This is a minor annoyance but true Facebook addicts are very prone to sharing photos of things that no one but them cares about. Your friends just simply do not care that you bought a new piece of equipment or a new “fake” car.
9. Photos of Nothing Special
It is fine to take photos of things that matter to you. Is your car, shirt, or new toilet really worth showing off? Do you really think your friends want to see where you sleep at night or where you relieve yourself? No. If it was not for Facebook, you never would have taken that photograph. Let’s keep it that way. Please. Your friends and family will thank you for it.
8. Causes that Do Not Matter
Supporting a cause is a great idea for anyone to become involved with. However, if you see a cause, you do not have to repost every one of them. Make sure they are not scams. Make sure they are real and most of all please make sure they are not something goofy. Goofy causes could something as silly as; “Should a guy lower the toilet seat when done?” If so please help us reach one million likes. No one really cares about that cause. Since the invention of the toilet we have had that dilemma. Facebook causes will not change it.
7. Facial Photo Shoots
Profile photos are great. Everyone on Facebook should have one. It is fine to post a photo of a new hairstyle or when you do your makeup really well. However, there is a limit. Do we really need twenty different photos taken by you all on the same day while making the same pucker face? No. Your friends love seeing you, as does your family. It is great that you are willing to post pictures of your beautiful/handsome face. If you post more than one a day, it may seem a little freakish. By some standards if you post more than one a month it may be slightly weird. Trust me, your appearance does not change that much, that quickly.
6. Likes
Everyone has someone on their friends list who within seconds of you posting something will immediately like it. You have probably had to wonder a time or two if they actually took the time to truly read or look at what you post. Do not become one of those immediate like people. Like what you like and if you do not like it, move on to the next thing that you might like. It gets annoying for your friends to post something and then immediately get a little popup saying you liked it.
5. Fake Comments
You may want to think before you comment a little more often if you find yourself saying, “LOL” or something idiotic on every status update or photo that your friends and family send out. If you like what they say or have a true comment, go for it. If you simply want to acknowledge that you saw it, resist the urge. It will only hurt a little bit.
4. Horoscopes and Fortunes
There are a lot of people who enjoy reading horoscopes and fortunes. The problem is, not many people care about what the stars are saying about your life. There is no reason to post it on your friend’s page. In some cases, it does it automatically unless you manually change the application settings. Your friends will thank you if you hurry up and get it changed. If you do, they might be able to discover what their own horoscope or fortune may say about them and their life.
3. Strangers Photos
Privacy is a primary concern for most people on Facebook. Consider that before you post comments on someone’s photo that you do not know. If it is a joke or something that they shared, great, post your comments freely. If it is a personal photograph of themselves, their child, or their home, perhaps you should refrain from making a comment and invading their privacy. If you do not know them, it is obvious the photo was not meant for you. Keep it that way.
2. Game Application Requests
If you know that your friends and family do not want to play a certain game or if you have sent them twenty requests and they have yet to join you in the game; stop sending requests. They are just being polite and not blocking you or the game but they are secretly annoyed by the fact that every day you send fifty requests. If they were playing a game that you did not want to play, would you be annoyed? Be honest. You would be irritated and probably block it all.
1. Status Updates
The number one most annoying thing you can do on Facebook is the status updates. Do you really think that everyone needs to know what you ate for dinner? When you go to bed? When you use the bathroom? When your boyfriend is a butthead? Or any of the other hundred status messages you post every day? Some things should be kept private. Keep that in mind before you start typing.
Using Facebook is great. Enjoying the fact that you can share your life with friends and family who are far away is also great. Just please save everyone some mental issues by avoiding the top 10 most annoying things you can do on Facebook.
