First of all, do not walk into an open house with a goal of not trying to give the home a chance. Do not tell them something is wrong with the home. Giving them a “range’ shows them that you believe your home is worth selling but can also be negotiated, but just don’t expect too much.

It is best not to have sellers stay in during the open house. When sellers stay in the home, they can usually ruin the atmosphere if they aren’t ready for buyers. Sometimes, they may create a bad look for the home if they aren’t ready. For example, some may follow the buyers around the house and try to force them into buying. Sellers should be gone during open houses to avoid mishaps with the buyers.

You should know that as a buyer, your job is not to care for the entire buying process. When a person buys the house, you really need to step back and just let it happen. Some sellers will take the money and make buyers add another $1,500 at the last minute, but this could ruin the buyer’s interest.
